I had set my reading goal for 2015 as 5 books. I ended up reading almost 10. I did most of my reading in the last few months of 2015 thanks to the holidays.
I use a Kindle now, an e-reader and while I used to be one of the people who believed that it’s not reading unless you are reading an actual book made of paper, I ended up loving the Kindle! I still love paper and books and the smell of new and old books, but the Kindle is so convenient.
It is light, easy to hold, the e-ink display is not harsh on your eyes, and you can pack a hundred books into the sleek thing! It is easy to carry around and I can switch between books with ease. If I come across a word that I don’t understand, I can look up the meaning/Wikipedia entry as I read. I don’t have to remember the page number or use a bookmark. I can even highlight sections that I love, take notes. Documents in pdf format can also be read on the Kindle. Anyone who loves reading should go ahead and get one. You will love it!
Here are the books that I read in 2015:
- Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
- Lean In
- The Stranger
- Is everyone Hanging Out without Me
- The Girl on the train
- Rebecca
- We Should All Be Feminists
- How to Win Friends and Influence People
- The Picture of Dorian Gray
- A TCP/IP book for school
This year my goal is to read 15 books. What is yours?
PS: Did I tell you Kindle books are usually cheaper? Go get one.
Good luck on your reading goal!
