I belong
nowhere.
Everywhere I go,
I misfit.
Is there a group
for misfits?
If I fit there,
am I still a misfit?
Are all misfits, misfit?
If they all fit
Aren’t they no longer
Misfit?

I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘belong to a group of misfits’?
If a person is categorized as a misfit, (s)he could be said to ‘belong to the group (category) of misfits’. Yet (s)he might feel uncomfortable or out of place in the presence of others who are categorized as misfits, so (s)he has no ‘sense of belonging to the group’.
According to McClelland, the 3 motivational ‘Needs’ are Achievement, Affiliation and Power. People who have little or no need for Affiliation tend to be classified as misfits. However, I believe that there are very, very few persons who are complete misfits. Almost every person has a sense of belonging to one or more groups.
